That Shit Don’t Work For Me

After 20 years of writer’s block, Sylvia was finally diagnosed with ADHD and perimenopause at 40 on top of her already existing CPTSD. I know—it’s the new trend these days!

She made great progress last year: getting her writing focus on, working with the best coach, writing retreats, almost finished the first draft of a tv show pilot —, and BAM! She crashed. Again. Like always. Sylvia dropped everything and shoved it away.

While these diagnoses explained, they didn’t create a foundation of support that managed her symptoms: somatic therapy, the right medications and dosage, and the what/when/where/how my energy works. And, believe it or not, ChatGPT as a tool and the perfect writing assistant! Sylvia is dipping her toes back into writing with a lot less pressure and guilt and a whole lot of compassion and strategies that work for her spicy brain.

In this interview, she tells all.
